What is an IP Address

This is an address that uniquely identifies your computer and tells the website you are accessing where in the world you are. As you can see from the above box it is very easy to find out information about you when you visit a website.  When a site such as the BBC I Player receives a connection from you it uses your IP address to check if you are in the UK. Connecting via our VPN service means that the website you are visiting will only see the IP address of our UK server and therefore conclude that you are based in the UK

What Is A VPN

It is an acronym  for a Virtual Private Network which is a way for you to access the internet via our servers with complete anonymity and security. When you connect to our service, your PC will create a secure connection, known as a tunnel, to one of our secure servers which then forwards your data onto the Internet. Once connected, all your Internet activity is performed through this tunnel, meaning any sites or services you connect to only see the connection coming from our server.

Why do you use Shared IP Addresses

A shared IP VPN service is inherently more secure than a unique IP service, as there are multiple users per IP, so it is not possible to trace a single user to a single IP. This increases the security per user.

Why Do I Need a VPN Connection

Masking your IP Address in this way will enable you to access UK live and catch-up TV from abroad and use Internet telephony applications such as Skype if they are blocked by your Internet Service Provider. Your internet usage is encrypted by what is known as a tunnel in such a way that even your ISP will not know what sites you have visited.

Is It Legal?

Yes completely 100% legal. You are not buying rebroadcast transmissions just a connection to our UK server. The licensing authority in the UK clearly state that watching the catch-up services does not require a TV Licence whereas watching live TV does. Go here  to read more

Is It A Download of Some Sort or Can I Really  Get Live TV?

Yes you really can get live streaming TV or you can download from the catch-up services to watch your favourite programs at your leisure even when you are no longer connected to the internet

Does It Replace My Broadband Connection?

No you need to connect via your broadband connection and then connect to our VPN Server afterwards

I Don't Know Much About Computers How Do I Set It Up?

By far the easiest way is to click HERE to go to the Download page and download the connection assistant for your operating system. When you subscribe to our services you will be given a user name and a password to enter when the software asks you to. You can also set it up manually using the links in the right column

I Still Cant Do It What Should I Do?

Email us at the support address on the right or click on the live support button also on the right and we will assist you to make the connection. Downloading  the remote assistance  file from the right column of this page will allow us to take over your computer and install your VPN connection remotely. The software can then be deleted from your system when we have you up and running

Is My Broadband Connection Fast Enough?

You will require at least a 1mbps broadband connection but preferably 2mbps. Our VPN is 2mb but we can supply speeds  of up to 10mb if required. 2mb is more than adequate for streaming TV programs. Our VPN Connection will not speed up your broadband. You can check your broadband speed on our downloads page

I am Getting an Error Code What Sould I do?

Make a note of the number and message on the error code and then contact us via our support page
